Electronics is something that we appreciate everyday thanks to our smartphones, but very few of us know what goes into an electronic system. In this article, we are going to walk you through the different basic electronic components and what they do.
Different Electronic Components
The basic components are the resistor, capacitor, LED, transistors, inductors, and Integrated Circuit or IC.
The resistor is what you use to control the electric current going into the electronic gadget. Without it, the full energy of a battery or any other power source goes into the gadget, overloading it and yes, destroying it. How does a resistor work? As the name implies, it resists the current.
The capacitor is something that you can think of as a small battery. It is normally used to introduce time delays in a circuit in order to, for example, create blinking lights. For the most part, though, it is used to stabilize the voltage and to remove noise.
The LED gives visual feedback from the circuits. It is responsive for indicating that the electronic circuit has power. The transistor, on the other hand, is used to build amplifiers.
An inductor is a coiled wire that is used in filters. An integrated circuit is composed of many parts. Basically, it is an electronic circuit that has been downsized. It can be used for just about anything, depending on what the manufacturer puts into it.
The information we indicated above is really just basic information. If you want to learn more about electronics so you can start to build them, you should do more research and study. It is actually not that difficult especially with the plethora of tutorials you can find online.
With the basic components, you can build anything. You are only limited by your imagination. As it is right now, electronics are being used to build smartphones and electronic billboards.
The good thing about electronics is that you can easily buy parts online. And the basic components we just mentioned? You can buy them for cheap. So when you are ready, read more and watch and learn. Then build.
There are several basics you need to learn. One of them is the closed loop. It is the most basic because it allows for power to circulate throughout the system. Another 101 lesson you just have to learn is the holy trinity of voltage, current, and resistance. Once you know this, you can easily make any electronic device power up.
The next thing you need to learn is building a circuit. You can learn by looking at a circuit diagram and then following what’s in the diagram. Simultaneously, become more intimately familiar with the basic parts we discussed here.
Once you have started building your own best quality electronic components. Build. Build. Build. Because building is how you learn and hone your skills. It’s just like when you are learning how to ride a bike. You practice and practice until you have the muscle memory for it.
